Ep6: GRACE Report: Tim Whitaker & The New Evangelicals

The story I wrote for this week — Allegations against Tim Whitaker and The New Evangelicals show how hierarchy transfers to progressive ministries — has gotten a lot of interaction online since Wednesday.

In fact, almost immediately after it posted, I was receiving very angry feedback. While this is something I’ve gotten used to over the past five years of my journalism career, the responses to this piece threw me off a bit.

I wanted to record a podcast episode that night to interact with the piece and expound on it more. But given what I was hearing that late in the evening, I decided to share a few additional thoughts, while waiting for my mind to clear to talk more extensively about it.

So with that said, I sat down that night to record Thursday’s podcast episode. I begin by sharing an intro about why I wrote the piece. Then I read the piece, while occasionally pausing to interject some comments.

This story is going to be ongoing. We’ll see how TNE handles the situation this week.
